Confidence

Why is confidence one of the things we struggle with the most?  Why do we constantly doubt ourselves and what we are capable of?  Why do we think others are capable of certain things but not us?  Is it in our upbringing, or DNA, or culture?  Our society, women in particular, have turned  on each other and criticized instead of complimented.  We have scolded instead of encouraged.  Where did we go wrong.  I am so glad I can be part of a group of people whose focus in on empowering and building confidence.

As a coach, helping people feel confident about who they are and how they look is one of the most difficult obstacles.  Those that have chosen to take steps with me to improve their health come in with ZERO confidence.  What they do not understand is how strong they already are.  Making the decision to change is actually much harder than changing.  Once they start exercising and getting healthy, the confidence levels soar, and not just about their physical appearance.  Exercise is proven to improve self-esteem, concentration, mood, patience, and signs of depression.

Honestly, I was NOT confident going into this.  I was unsure about my own weight loss journey and living up to the expectations of others.  I worried that I didn't have what it takes to inspire others. But I found people, participants and other coaches, that inspired me to be better.  They keep me accountable and have faith in me.   I still have days when I'm unsure but I do know that my confidence has grown so much over the last few months and I cant wait to see what I can accomplish if I continue to grow.

What a journey this is!!!
